Supported Input File Types

Every audio format MP3 Encoder accepts as input, grouped by codec family. Output is always MP3.

MP3 Encoder identifies each file by its content (the Uniform Type Identifier and magic-byte signature) rather than by extension. The extensions listed below are the common ones for each format and are matched case-insensitively, but a renamed or extensionless file in any of these formats will still be recognized correctly.
